Explore Cincinnati and beyond with our exciting day trips. Enjoy lunches, behind-the-scenes tours and exciting journeys.

Registration Policy: Due to overwhelming popularity, all Fall trips will open for registration online, over the phone, or in-person starting on August 2.

Trip Cancellation Policy: Due to recent issues, refunds will only be given if we have a waiting list and are able to fill your spot. Trips costing $30 or more must be paid on the day of registration.


Summer Session Day Trips

Belterra Park Casino and Horse Racing

August 22, 10:30am – 3:30pm
Cost: $5 for transportation; lunch is on your own
Walking: Moderate amount

The horses are running! Belterra Park is an entertainment destination on the banks of the Ohio River, featuring live racing during the summer, video lottery games, and a great buffet. Don’t forget to bring a federal ID and your Belterra card if you have one. If you do not have a Belterra card, we will get you one when you arrive.

Ohio Book Store and Lunch at Arnold’s

Book lovers, come explore one of the Cincinnati’s oldest bookstores! Located downtown, Ohio Book Store has five floors of books and magazines. After browsing, we’ll enjoy lunch at Arnold’s Bar and Grill.

See Historic Dayton Bus Tour

Get a glimpse into the history of Dayton with an informational bus tour led by Mike Lawrence. Come see Orville Wright’s home, historic Woodland Cemetery, Carillon Historical Park, and downtown too! We will enjoy a hearty lunch at the Carillon Brewing Co., featuring homemade root beer, meatloaf, and burgers.

A Day at the Races – Louisville’s Churchill Downs

Treat yourself to a day at the races at historic Churchill Downs in Louisville and experience the thrill of thoroughbred racing! We’ll begin by viewing the short film, “The Greatest Race,” and then explore the museum exhibit and gift shop. We’ll take a guided walking tour of the racetrack before enjoying a lavish buffet lunch and betting in Millionaires’ Row or the Skye Terrace!

Skirball Museum: Recent Gifts and Acquisitions Exhibition

Visit Skirball Museum on the campus of Hebrew-Union College Jewish Institute of Religion to enjoy a docent-led tour of recent gifts and acquisitions. This collection includes a group of 10 important works by Israeli artists, a blown glass Hanukkah by renowned artist Marvin Lipofsky, an American Hanukkah by Anfred Manson, and works from the B’nai B’rith Klutznick Collection. Facts become blurry when they’re twisted into fiction in the high-stakes world of publishing. Emily Penrose, the demanding editor-in-chief of a high-end magazine, hires a determined millennial fact-checker named Jim Fingal to work on a groundbreaking essay written by the famous author John D’Agata. The deadline is tight, the essay is dense, and everyone must make a good faith effort in telling the story honestly. But the overly eager Jim takes his fact-checking way too far, creating the ultimate showdown of fact versus fiction.

Tour of Peterloon Estate and Stone Creek Dining

The historic home of Cincinnati developer and arts patron John J. Emery and his wife Irene was designed by the architect William Adams Delano of Delano & Aldrich, the leading country-house architectural firm in the United States. The house is a combination of Georgian and Queen Anne styles and, when finished, had 36 rooms, 19 fireplaces, 21 baths, and included a wing of guest rooms. Originally sited on 1,200 wooded acres in Indian Hill, the house was built in 1928 to rival the grandest houses of America and Europe. We will enjoy lunch at Stone Creek Dining.

American Sign Museum
