Social Worker & Support Groups for Seniors
The J’s licensed social worker and professional counselor, Ann Pappalardo, offers assistance to those in our Senior Center. She is available to provide seniors with support, guidance, and crisis management for personal, family, social, or mental health issues.
Ann facilitates our innovative computer programs for JCC seniors, which are designed to promote cognitive stimulation and maintain healthy brain function. She also facilitates our two support groups:

Adult Children of Aging Parents Support Group
Open to the community, our Adult Children of Aging Parents Support Group discusses the challenges and issues associated with caring for aging parents. Participants are invited to provide feedback and support to others experiencing similar situations.
Ann Pappalardo, licensed social worker and professional counselor for the JCC, facilitates the group’s discussion with Ann Sutton Burke, Director of Aging and Caregiver Services at Jewish Family Service. This group meets the fourth Thursday of each month, unless otherwise noted, from 7 – 8:30pm at the JCC.

Dementia Family Caregiver Support Group
Our Dementia Family Caregiver Support Group, sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Association, provides an opportunity for participants to discuss the challenges of caring for a family member with dementia. The group shares helpful tips, while receiving support from one another.
This group meets the second Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise noted, at 7pm at Cedar Village.
