Ongoing Wellness Programs

Think Tank

Fridays, 10:30 – 11:45am

This lively discussion group examines a wide variety of topics of interest.


Fit for Life

Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 9:30 – 10:30am
Instructors: Kelly Greulich & Melissa Shrimplin

This fitness class features exercises that focus on strength and cardio cross-training, as well as balance and range of motion.


Torah Treasures

Mondays, 10:30 – 11:30am
Instructor: Rabbi Yitzchok Preis

A study of the Torah portion of the day.


Bridge/Mah Jongg Groups

Mondays – Fridays, 1:30 – 6pm

Bring your group for a Senior Meal Deal at the J Café then enjoy an afternoon of Mahj or Bridge.

Rummikub

Tuesdays, 12 – 3pm
Facilitated by: Sue Busemeyer

Come play with us! Rummikub is a tile-based game that is a combination of rummy and mahjong. It’s easy to learn and we are happy to teach and new players! 


Yoga for Seniors

Tuesdays and Thursdays, 1:30 – 2:30pm
Instructor: Mary Seibert; $3/class

This class will help with your strength, flexibility, and balance through a variety of supported tri yoga flows. Prerequisites: Participants should be able to move easily from seated to standing positions.


Chess & Scrabble Club

Tuesdays & Thursdays, 2 – 6pm

Come join in on a rousing game of chess or scrabble. Don’t know how to play? Don’t worry, we’ll have friends to teach you. All ages are welcome to participate.


Tai Chi

Wednesdays, 10:30 – 11:30am
Instructor: Ralph Dehner, Master Trainer; $3/class

This ongoing Tai Chi program helps with arthritis, balance, and memory. Learn an ancient Yang style short form. Beginners are always welcome.


Wii Bowling

Wednesdays, 10:30 – 11:30am

If you can’t make it to the real lanes, come have fun with virtual bowling. You’ll get moderate exercise with a group of enthusiastic Wii bowlers. No experience? We’ll teach you the lanes!


Multimedia Art

Thursdays, 10am – 12pm
Instructor: Rita Wasserman; $3/class

Do you enjoy creating art? Or, do you just want to get started? Bring your own projects and get helpful advice from Rita Wasserman, a retired art teacher and working artist. Bring any art medium you’d like.


Issues of the Day

Thursdays, 1 – 3pm

Every current issues enthusiast and advocate embodies a set of thoughts, ideas, and values that inform how they see the world. In today’s rapidly changing, socially and politically charged environment, it is important to bring together diverse perspectives and engage respectfully in conversations that reflect individual experiences, heartfelt beliefs and different viewpoints. We invite you to join issues of the day and explore a new way of being in conversation and fellowship together at this casual weekly forum.
