Semi(te) Sweet: On Jews and Chocolate
November 30 – January 6
Explore the fascinating history of refugee Jews and those who worked for them in the chocolate trade. Based on the best-selling book On the Chocolate Trail: A Delicious Adventure Connecting Jews, Religions, History, Travel, Rituals, and Recipes to the Magic of Cacao by Rabbi Deborah Prinz, this exhibition will tell the story of how the chocolate business helped sustain Jewish refugees during their relocations, and how they in turn helped build strong Jewish communities.
This exhibition was created by the Herbert & Eileen Bernard Museum of Judaica at Temple Emanu-El of the City of New York.
*Exhibition is open during normal building hours.
