A Matter of Balance: Managing Concerns About Falls
November 4, 11, 18 & 25, December 2, 9 & 16
Mondays, 1 – 3pm
Many older adults experience concerns about falling and restrict their activities accordingly. But you don’t have to restrict your life as well! A Matter of Balance is an award-winning program designed to teach you how to manage falls and increase your level of activity. Two-hour classes will be held once a week for eight weeks.Register
Introduction to Face Reading (Physiognomy)
November 20, 6 – 8pm
Join our very own Tai Chi instructor, Ralph Dehner, for a fun, informative lesson on reading facial features to understand yourself and others. Physiognomy has been practiced for thousands of years. Come connect with the community at our inaugural Holiday Shuk, an Israeli-style market where local vendors and artisans will be selling Judaica, jewelry, and other hand-crafted goods. Kids can enjoy a special kids-only section where they can get gifts for all of their loved ones!
New Year Neurobics: A Workshop for the Body and Brain
January 29, 1 – 3pm
Start the New Year with this two-hour experiential program designed to awaken your brain and body through unique yoga and brain exercises. This experience is designed to improve listening, balance, and confidence while reducing stress! Yoga therapist Sharon Byrnes, M.Ed., C-IAYT and gerontologist Pat Faust, MGS, CAt combine their skills to offer a gentle mental and physical workout. RSVP by January 24 to 513.761.7500 x1208.

Save the Date: Jewish Community Blood Drive
March 22, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Donating blood is easy and rewarding! A single donation can help save up to three lives. Presented in partnership with Congregation Sha’arei Torah, Golf Manor Synagogue, and Congregation Zichron Eliezer.
GrandFriends is your opportunity to volunteer in our community! Seniors are paired with a Mayerson JCC Early Childhood School classroom, and will visit the class weekly to read books, tell stories, and play with the children. Re-connect with your childhood while giving back to our youngest community members. Share your wisdom and see the world through the perspectives of your new young friends.
Requirements for volunteering:
- Commit to making at least two hour- long visits each month for one school year (September – May)
- Complete one hour of JCC volunteer training
- Proof of immunization
- Background check/Fingerprinting
